Chapter Spotlight: PAPOR

11/18/2022

The Pacific Chapter of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (PAPOR) has had a successful year so far and is planning its upcoming annual conference for December 14-15 at the Marines’ Memorial Club and Hotel in San Francisco. PAPOR’s Conference Chair Mira Norton and Associate Chair Jessica Gollaher are organizing two short courses, five paper sessions, a poster session, and a plenary with dinner. Registration will be announced soon, and the call for participation is underway. Please send paper and poster submissions to Mira at confchair@papor.org, and visit our website www.papor.org for more info. We hope to see you there!

PAPOR’s Student Paper Competition is also currently underway. Students in PAPOR’s region can submit papers that focus on some aspect of public opinion or survey methods to our student paper chair, Mingnan Liu, at studentpaper@papor.org by October 14. First and second place prizes are awarded, and more information is available on our website.

The PAPOR Annual Mini-Conference held June 23 at Public Policy Institute of California and via webinar was well attended, and featured great summaries of several of the 2017 AAPOR Conference presentations. David Kordus, the mini-conference chair, has posted the summaries on our website.

The latest PAPOR Trail newsletter is also now available on our website, brought to you by our newsletter editor, Danell Brewster. Check it out for updates on PAPOR’s events, stories from members, and some highlights from the 2017 AAPOR conference.

PAPOR has become more active on social media, thanks to our new webmaster, Laura Wronski. We now have a LinkedIn site at www.linkedin.com/company/6407079 and a Twitter account at @PAPORorg. Be sure to connect with us!
