Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for an AAPOR committee!

Volunteering to serve AAPOR through committee membership is a rewarding experience that allows you to grow your professional networks, learn more about national organization activities, and help direct the future growth of AAPOR. AAPOR relies on enthusiastic, talented members to do the necessary work that keeps the organization running.

More information about who currently chairs and serves on these committees, as well as what these committees do can be found on the AAPOR website.

Throughout the year, some committees are busier than others and will require more of your time to be an engaged and productive committee member. All committees have regular meetings via conference call and have an annual in person meeting at the AAPOR conference. Conference attendance is not required to serve on a committee.

Joining an AAPOR committee requires a commitment to completing a three-year term. After three years, you have the option to renew your committee membership for a second three-year term. If you are concerned about the time commitment for committee work, we encourage you to reach out to the chair of the committee you are interested in or Jerry Timbrook, the chair of the volunteer coordination subcommittee, with your questions.
