The Annual Conference is Just a Month Away

We have several important conference-related updates for you:
- The preliminary conference program is available online.
- An enormous THANK YOU to everyone who signed up to serve as a session moderator. Moderators are now listed in the interactive program.
- When planning your trip to Toronto, please arrive early enough to catch the opening plenary, Conducting a Census in the Digital Age, which will be held Thursday, May 16, 2:00-3:30 p.m. Speakers include Sunshine Hillygus, Duke University; James Treat, U.S. Census Bureau; Patrice Mathieu, Statistics Canada; and Peter Miller, Northwestern University (moderator). The 2020 U.S. Decennial Census will be the first to offer internet response, a feature previously implemented in our host country’s census. This plenary will cover challenges, research, and lessons learned.
- Be sure to catch the AAPOR/WAPOR Breakfast Plenary: Populism Around the World, which will be held Sunday, May 19, 7:45-9:00 a.m. Speakers include Pippa Norris, Harvard University and University of Sydney; Richard Wike, Pew Research Center; and Gary Langer, Langer Research (moderator). Support for populist leaders has emerged as a key trend in public opinion around the world. This plenary offers insights from survey research in numerous countries.
- Finally, this year’s Saturday night post-banquet party will feature a karaoke contest! To participate, send an email to ckennedy@pewresearch.org with subject line KARAOKE. In the email list the performer name(s) and the song title. You will be sent a confirmation email when your request has been received.
