TRANSPARENCY MEMBER SPOTLIGHT:
The independent Quinnipiac University Poll joined AAPOR’s Transparency Initiative in December 2014 and recently successfully completed its biennial review. The Quinnipiac University Poll conducts timely and accurate public opinion polls on politics and public policy as a public service and for academic research. They regularly conducts polls of residents in Connecticut, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia as well as national RDD polls. The Poll is well-regarded for its timeliness and thoroughness and is featured regularly in The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal and on national network news broadcasts. They have 200 CATI stations and employ a combination of student and non-student interviewers.

According to Douglas Schwartz, PhD, director of the Quinnipiac University Poll, joining the TI was instrumental in their overall credibility. “Belonging to the AAPOR Transparency Initiative is an important step for any poll that wants to be respected throughout the field. When I see a press release from a poll I don’t recognize, seeing that they are a part of the TI gives me more confidence in their results, and gives me the opportunity to check out their methodology. A good poll should have nothing to hide about their basic methodology, and the TI ensures that they don’t.”

As a charter member of AAPOR’s Transparency Initiative, Quinnipiac University Poll is fully compliant with TI disclosure rules in all of their publicly released polls such as their March 2017 survey, available here.

AAPOR’s Transparency Initiative is proud to have the independent Quinnipiac University Poll as one of its charter members. Find out more about AAPOR’s Transparency Initiative.
